Elgar Birthplace Museum
The Elgar Birthplace Museum at Worcester celebrates the life and work of one of Britain’s greatest and best-loved composers, whose master works include ‘Enigma Variations’, ‘Pomp and Circumstance’ and ‘The Dream of Gerontius’.
The Museum has an unrivalled collection of manuscripts, letters, concert programmes, photographs and more, revealing the great man behind the music. The refurbished visitor centre displays bring context to the story of Elgar, with layered interpretation comprising unseen images, ephemera, and the wider social picture. The stories are delivered via simple and cost-effective devices such as audio visual touch screens, flip books and digital photo frames. The centre also has a new temporary exhibition area, cafe and shop.
